A Bible verse for today morning with prayer, gratitude, and encouragement.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
Jesus does not say rest will come after you solve the problem. He says come to Me, and I will give you rest.
“It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning.”
Every morning begins with mercy before it begins with pressure.
“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee.”
This passage gives simple language for beginning the day in prayer.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith gives spiritual weight to hope when we cannot yet see the outcome.
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Thankfulness is not denial. It is a way of staying awake to grace.
“O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”
Gratitude rests on God's lasting goodness and mercy.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.”
Jesus gives peace that is different from what the world gives.
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
God's peace guards both the heart and the mind.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.”
Peace is connected with trust and a mind stayed on God.
“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.”
Peace reaches even the vulnerable moment of sleep.
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: the Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.”
This blessing ends with the Lord giving peace.
“Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you.”
“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”
“For seven days celebrate the festival to the LORD your God at the place the LORD will choose. For the LORD your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.”
